How do I find peace in the middle of the storm?
Christ says in the Gospels, today has enough anxieties of its own. And what he means by that is that we as people living in this world have troubles and cares and situations and things that are constantly clamouring to take our peace in the present moment. And the only place to find peace is not in the storm. It's in the eye of the storm, the centre of the storm. That's where it's peaceful. When we let go of the thoughts, when we stop trying to analyse and figure everything out, when we stop trying to forever question everything that happened in our life and why, and this and that, and we're trying to make sense of it, when we're living in the present, that's the only real reality. At the moment of our death, that is the hyper experience of the reality of the nowness of this existence. And we never know how long we're going to live. We may all die tomorrow. We don't have any idea. And so it doesn't behove us to worry about tomorrow, to project into the future, to try to figure things out. This does not mean that we don't have any planning. But our planning has to be mitigated by a strong sense of the importance of being right here, being in today, staying here, and connecting ourselves with Christ.
