What actually separates a saint from someone like me?

Sometimes I think the correlation being that we often think of the saints almost in a non-human way, like somewhat robotic, and it is like that is not the case at all. What separates the saints so often from us is not that they were floating around all the time everywhere that they went. What separates them from us is that their great love and devotion and all of their energy was put into being sanctified, was put into prayer and asceticism and devotion and love towards God. It was not that they did not have any faults. It is one of the reasons I recommend the book on St. Joseph the Hesychast so much, is because people really see the personality and the character of the saints, and they see that they are normal in a sense. They are normal people like you and I. They are normal people, they are human beings, and they have passions and they have ways that they carry themselves and they have struggles, and yet all of that was subjected to the fact that their primary purpose in life, and all their energies, was to glorify God and to love him.
