What if I'm not ready to confess everything from my past?

The reality is it takes people different amounts of time. I have some people who come to the church and within one month of coming to the church, they're like, Father, I have to do a life confession. I need to get these things out of my soul. There are things that are bothering me. There are things that I'm ashamed of. I have to get this done. God bless them. We hear their life confession even though they may still be eleven months away from baptism. There's nothing wrong with that. Other people may put it off for six months. What I encourage people is do it, and set a date, and try to do it before you get afraid or cold feet. But usually if you set a date with the priest and you mark it down and you say, I'm going to do it, that is very helpful. By the time someone's been in the church six, nine months, they should have done a life confession ideally.
