Why do I have no peace even when I try to control everything?
Because the reality is most people live in an existence where they're trying to control everything around them in order to find peace. They want everything to go their way so they can be peaceful. When a person lives like this, they find zero peace. The only person who has real peace is the person of prayer and watchfulness, who gets rid of the buttons, the distractions, the thoughts, and is able to live in the present moment with Christ, focusing on him. That person begins to transcend the problems of this life without controlling or changing anything. They live in a state of acceptance. That is what we are gunning for. That is real contentment. It is not emotional. It is not psychological. And it doesn't require everything going our way. And that is the goal.
