Apologetics
Why do Protestant churches preach against works and against religion?
Well, Protestantism is a response to Roman Catholicism. That's really what it boils down to. If you understand Protestantism, you're understanding a theological system that was created by Roman Catholicism. It is their response to Roman Catholicism. It is their interpretation of the words of Saint Paul as a rebuttal. But this is one of the reasons that Protestants don't quote the church fathers, is because the church fathers were clearly not Protestants. They also don't quote Christ a lot. There's many things that Christ says in the Gospels, and we're going to be coming out with a video with this, that fly completely in the face of Protestant teaching. You just have to understand that they're coming with a bias. That bias is against Roman Catholicism, and their theological system that they created is a response to that. That's why they're like that. It does not align itself with the totality of scripture, it doesn't align itself with the teachings of Christ. It is what it is.
